University relief effort continues

Kent State’s effort to collect money for victims of Hurricane Katrina will continue from noon to 2 p.m. today through Thursday in Risman Plaza and other locations around campus.

The Center for Student Involvement and University Dining Services, along with several other student organizations, started the collection effort last week, according to a university press release. The money will go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Academic departments and student organizations can come to the Center for Student Involvement in room 226 of the Student Center to pick up a collection box marked for the relief effort.

“People have been looking for a way to help, and the Red Cross has said sending money is the best way,” said Della Marie Marshall, associate director of the Center for Student Involvement, in a press release. “Any student group can contact our office, and we will coordinate their efforts.”

The Center for Student Involvement can be reached at (330) 672-2480.
