Wick Poetry award winners to speak

Brief

Two award-winning poets will present their poetry at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in room 306 of the Student Center.

Catherine Pierce and J. Gabriel Scala were both recipients of the 2003 Wick Poetry Chapbook Competition for Ohio poets.

Pierce won the Wick Poetry Chapbook Competition award for her collection of poems, Animals of Habit. The book focuses on unconventional love poems, relationships and family history.

Scala’s Wick Chapbook award came from her collection, Twenty Questions for Robbie Dunkle. The poems ask questions to a persona of a boy that she went to high school with.

The event is free and open to the public. The Wick Poetry Center is sponsoring the event.
