“Termine wasn’t able to work as diligently as I had hoped,” executive director Gary Broadbent said.

The election will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. Students can vote online at the USS Web site.

The senator for university affairs is responsible for appointing members to various university committees and overseeing the new judicial affairs program.

Students interested in running for the position can pick up an application in the Office of Campus Life. Applications are due 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Office of Campus Life.

Broadbent said he hopes the person who wins will be self-motivated and insightful, “someone who’s going to make Kent State a better place,” Broadbent said.

He said about 10 people had already applied as of Thursday.

“If we have 20 candidates, so be it,” Broadbent said. “Leave it to the students to decide. Hopefully they’ll pick the best one.”

Students can vote in the election Monday on the USS Web site at www.uss.kent.edu.
