Timothy Brind Jr., 19, turned himself in Thursday afternoon and was arraigned after he was charged for a hit-skip crash that happened in August 2022.

The crash was at the intersection of Route 261 and Summit Street and killed 22-year-old Kent State student, Colin Pho.

Brind was charged with “failure to stop after an accident,” which is a third-degree felony.

Judge Becky Doherty issued him a twenty-thousand dollar personal recognizance bond.

Brind’s discovery hearing was set for March 24, his preliminary hearing for May 2 and a possible jury trial for May 16.

Pho was a computer science major at Kent State and was traveling eastbound near Dix stadium on his electric scooter when he was struck from behind.

Brind was found “not at fault” for the actual crash.
