Pedestrian struck by vehicle on East Main Street Monday

The 19-year-old female pedestrian struck by a vehicle Monday night is in stable condition, according to Ohio State Patrol Sergeant Shaun Baskerville.

The incident occurred at 9:30 p.m. when another 19-year-old female from Coshocton, Ohio, who has not been identified at this time, struck the victim on E Main Street and was later transported to Summa Health System in Akron.

Baskerville said there is still no belief that alcohol or speed was involved, however the investigation is still pending and he anticipates the case will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review. There have been no charges brought forth at this time.
