USG Election results: Chazzlyn Jackson is the new USG president

The USG election concluded Wednesday with over 600 ballots cast. The election featured nineteen elected positions; all but five of the positions were uncontested. The contested positions were Senator for the College of Nursing, Senator for the Honors College, Senator for the College of Architecture and Environmental Design, Senator for the College of the Arts and the Director of Student Advancement. 

Friday afternoon University Vice President for Student Affairs Lamar Hylton flipped a coin to finalize USG election results for the 2021-2022 academic year. The vice president flipped to determine the outcome for the Senator for the College of the Arts after a tie between Isabella Alvarino and Trevor Walton. Alvarino became the Senator of the College of the Arts and Walton became the Senator of the College of Arts and Sciences. 

The new USG board will activate after the traditional Passing-of-the-Gavel transitional meeting scheduled for April 7th.
