Kent State gymnastics struggles at Eagle Invitational

The Kent State gymnastics team (3-3) placed fourth out of four teams at the Eagle Invitational in Ypsilanti, Michigan. 

KSU posted its second highest team score of the season with a 194.825, but the Flashes still lost to Ball State (195.875), which took home the overall win, as well as Western Michigan (195.8) and Eastern Michigan (195.575).

Senior Abby Fletcher tied her career-high on beam with a 9.900 and finished tied for second place. She later tied for sixth place on floor with a 9.875. 

Sophomore Rachel DeCavitch and freshman Sarah Haxton both tied for third place on bars with a 9.825. DeCavitch tied for second in the all-around competition with a 38.900. 

Sophomore Olivia Amodei tied for third on vault with a 9.800. 

The Flashes will travel to Ypsilanti again to face the Eagles on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. KSU will host Western Michigan on Feb. 18.
