Kent State’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design selected its new dean, Mark Mistur to succeed Douglas Steidl, who will be retiring this coming summer, according to a university press release.

Mistur previously served as the associate dean of the School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York, according to the press release.

The new CAED dean holds a Bachelor of Architecture, a Bachelor of Building Science and a Master of Science in building conservation from RPI.

“The (CAED) at Kent State is by all indicators a vibrant learning community, dedicated to professional excellence and making positive contributions to the built environment at every scale,” Mistur said in the Kent State announcement.

Mistur is set to start his position this summer on July 15.
