Insomnia Cookies

Insomnia Cookies was founded in 2003 by Seth Berkowitz, a student at the University of Pennsylvania and has continued to serve hungry college students ever since.

It isn’t difficult to see why Kent State students love Insomnia. The cookie chain, which offers cookies, brownies, cookie cakes and cold milk, makes late-night study sessions easier and more enjoyable with delivery options and online ordering.

“I think students like Insomnia Cookies because it is one of those treats where when you are craving any of their amazing cookies, and it’s too late to drive there, you have the option of getting it delivered straight to wherever you are,” Elisa Lustig, a sophomore exploratory major, said.

Insomnia Cookies is located on South Water Street and delivers daily from noon to 3 a.m.

Jimmy John’s

Considering Jimmy John’s came in third place in the best sandwich shop category, it’s no surprise that it takes the second place spot for best late-night delivery. With delivery hours from 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, it’s never too difficult for Kent State students to get their hands on a Jimmy John’s sub.

“When you’re in a tough pickle while you’re out with your friends, Jimmy John’s is always there to save the day,” Hemant Reddy, a senior integrated life sciences major, said. “Without fail, they quell hunger in a timely manner.”

EuroGyro

Some say Euro[jeer-oh] and others say Gyro[jahy-roh]. There may be controversy over how to pronounce EuroGyro, but one thing is clear: Kent State students love it.

According to the EuroGyro website, George Istocki, owner of the EuroGyro restaurant chain, established the restaurant in 1979 because he “saw the need for a late-night delivery business and set the standard for it by staying open late.”

Dean Holland, a EuroGyro driver and cook, thinks Kent State students like EuroGyro because of the options it offers late at night, as well as early in the day.

“It’s easy to be a favorite when we deliver that late,” Holland said. EuroGyro delivers from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. daily.
