Senior Associate Provost Tim Chandler has been named Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Towson University. Chandler will continue working at Kent State for the remainder of the semester and will take up his new post in January.

Chandler also served as interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Provost Todd Diacon said he will appoint a replacement for Chandler as interim dean soon, and the process of finding a permanent dean will begin in the next few weeks.

Chandler has been with Kent State University since 2001, first as a professor in the School of Exercise, Leisure and Sport and then as dean of the College of the Arts in 2004. He has been senior associate provost since 2009.
