Kent City Council voted unanimously Wednesday to approve an ordnance granting the “Old Kent Hotel” at 176 Main St. status as a historical building.

Ward 5 Councilwoman Heidi Shaffer said this ordinance will grant Ron Burbick, the hotel’s current owner, access to tax credits with which to renovate the property.
