Bill Arthrell, a witness to the May 4, 1970 shootings at Kent State, pats some dirt down as he finishes burying a copy of the Constitution in front of the Victory Bell on the 50th anniversary. Arthrell gave an impassioned speech about the May 4, 1970, shootings that killed four students and wounded nine others. The speech followed the ringing of the bell by Jerry Lewis, an emeritus professor of sociology, who also witnessed the shootings.
