Cross country teams finished first and third in first meet

The Kent State men’s and women’s cross country teams took third and first place at the season opener held at the Kent State airporton Friday.

Kent State sophomore Kassandra Meholick took first place honors running the 4,000 meter race in 14:59.23. Freshmen teammate Audrey Maheu finished her first college race in second place with a time of 15:04.39. Junior Kelly Gephert finished fourth and sophomore

Allison Krupko took seventh helping the 2008 women’s team to its first victory.

Sophomore John Minen led the men’s team, finishing the 6,000 meter race third overall with a time of 19:10.04. Senior Joe Parker took seventh with a time of 19:22.03. The men’s team was defeated by Ohio State and Malone colleges who placed first and second.
