People ask me all the time about what it is like to have a twin. My response is that having a twin brother is 100% fun. 

My fondest memories are when Mitchell and I first got into pro wrestling when we were 5-years-old. 

My mom’s friend Betty Ann Phillips’ son Joey gave us his WWF games for the PlayStation 1. We started playing them and our imaginations ran wild. When we realized these wrestlers appear on TV, we had to start watching. I am now 23 years old and there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t watch this sport that I love. 

We honestly spend most of our time in the car driving these days. We spent a lot of time in the car driving to the Stark branch of Kent State when we were sophomores in college. 

It was an hour and a half drive each way to Canton every Tuesday and Thursday, so we had to find a way to kill time. One morning I decided to turn on my favorite podcast: Something To Wrestle With Bruce Prichard. We listened to an episode about The Rockers (Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty) and it still stands as one of my favorite episodes. 

Ever since that morning, this podcast has become an important part of our lives. WWE legend Bruce Prichard and Alabama mortgage advisor Conrad Thompson have amazing commentaries about wrestlers and shows from the past. The show is revolutionary because it gives fans the opportunity to hear about what happened in WWE during the times that defined them as fans. 

Mitchell and I were immediately hooked. Week to week we would listen to the show and drive our dad crazy because our cell phone data bill would be through the roof. The hours of driving would go by fast, but every trip was a fun journey because we were looking forward to what Bruce and Conrad had to say. 

Bruce and Conrad decided to come to Columbus, Ohio for a live show/autograph signing before WWE’s Fastlane PPV. We decided to leave the house at 5 a.m. to be the first fans in line at the Phenix Banquet Center. We met Bruce and Conrad as well as their fun-loving graphic guy Dave Silva. We had so much fun at this live show that we decided to go to another in Pittsburgh the following July. 

Mitchell and I capped off the long day in Columbus at the Fastlane show at Nationwide Arena. It was a day full of ‘wrasslin’ and we would not have had it any other way. 

We stayed with our Aunt Betty Ann in Columbus that night, the same person who gave us the wrestling video games over 15 years ago. It was an unbelievable day that we will always remember. 

We are a long way removed from those intense wrestling matches that Mitchell and I used to have on the living room floor. However, Mitchell and I are still those little kids at heart.
