Kent State gymnastics on an eight-game winning streak

The Kent State gymnastics team secured a close win Friday night against Cornell University, 192.725-190.050. 

Freshman Olivia Amodei was the top scorer for the Flashes, finishing first in the vault, uneven parallel bars and balance beams.

Amodei said she was most satisfied with her balance beam performance, which scored a 9.800. She set a career high with her performance. 

Sophomore Samantha Henry took second on the balance beams with a score of 9.750, which is a season high for her.

Freshman Rachel DeCavitch placed second on vault and parallel bars while placing third on beam. Her score for vault was 9.700 while she scored a 9.750 on bars. DeCavitch finished in first in the all around with a score of 38.575. Freshman Karlie Franz followed her with a score of 38.175.

Senior Sarah McCarty finished first in floor with a score of 9.825, which is her first floor title. Senior Jade Brown followed her in second place with a score of 9.800.
