Kent State’s student philanthropic student group, FLASHanthropy, will participate in Giving Tuesday on Dec. 1.

FLASHanthropy will be hosting interactive events to encourage students to give back to Kent State on the second floor of the Kent Student Center from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

“There will be a photo booth, as well as an opportunity to win an iPad Mini 2 through a raffle,” said Theresa Medrano, a junior human development and family studies major. “Flash will be on hand for photos and other special guests and opportunities may be announced throughout the day on FLASHanthropy social media.”

Medrano serves on the executive board of FLASHanthropy and has been involved with the group for two years.

“(Giving Tuesday) is a great way to demonstrate philanthropy while making a difference for students and the university,” Medrano said. “There are many areas on campus that could use their support.”

On Tuesday, President Beverly Warren announced the #IGiveBevGives campaign in which she will match all Giving Tuesday donations up to $25,000.
