Kent State’s College of Public Health partnered with the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), a Brazilian science and technology health institution, to develop courses on international public health.

The collaboration developed during the college’s 10-day trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in March.

The college will begin new courses this fall, offering a two-week biostatistics course created for researchers at the Oswaldo Cruz Institute.

The Global Health Latin America Immersion course will take place for two weeks in May 2016 and focus on the Rondonia State and Rio de Janeiro population.

The college and FIOCRUZ hope to grow and create more opportunities for students and faculty while establishing an international partnership.
