Ohio Gov. John Kasich has appointed Virginia C. Albanese of Akron to the Kent State University Board of Trustees.

Albanese, president and CEO of FedEx Custom Critical, began her term Wednesday, and it will end May 16, 2022. Albanese will replace Jacqueline Woods, chairperson of the board’s finance and administration committee.

Albanese earned a bachelor’s degree from Kent State in 1985 and her executive master’s in business administration from Kent State in 1995. In 2010, she was the first woman elected chair of the Greater Akron Chamber Board of Directors.
