Kent State student Samuel Baer died Thursday from an accident related to helium inhalation. The junior art education major would have been 23 on Saturday.

Baer’s brother Zack described him as “a wild kid” who loved sports and art. After college he wanted to be an art teacher.

“He really loved football,” Zack said, “He would get pretty mad whenever I make fun of the Browns.”

Baer played as a guard and defensive lineman for the Garaway High School Pirates football team, where he graduated in 2008.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel.
