Sheryl Crow, a nine-time Grammy Award-winner, is set to perform at Dix Stadium this fall.

According to a press release from Kent State, Crow’s performance will be Sept. 8 at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5 p.m. The concert is part of the Centennial Campaign, an initiative to celebrate the school’s 100-year anniversary. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will go toward the Campaign for Change Scholarship Fund, a $250-million fundraising effort.

So far the campaign has raised more than $256 million to support a variety of sources with an emphasis on student scholarships. The concert will be a conclusion to the Centennial Campaign, which has been the largest campaign in Kent State history.

The nonprofit Kent State University Foundation will present that concert and will feature two other bands including Los Lonely Boys — a Grammy Award-winning band from Texas. The third band has yet to be announced, but the press release states it will be a “major band.”

Concert tickets go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. and are available at the Kent State Ticket Office as well as Ticketmaster. Discount ticket prices are offered for students, with $30 floor seats and $20 bleacher seats. Nonstudent prices for chair-back seats are $50 and bleacher seats are $35.

Since it began in 2007, the Campaign for Change has raised more than $65,000 from students, parents, faculty and staff — a heritage that will continue to help students in the future. The Campaign for Change encourages students to “pay it forward,” supporting the endowed scholarship fund.
