Two people had minor injuries after a three-car accident at the intersection of state Route 59 and South Mantua Street around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Drivers of a red Mercury and a black GMC had minor cuts and bruises, said Officer John Gormsen of the Kent Police Department.

A blue Chevrolet SUV was turning left from South Mantua Street onto state Route 59 when the driver of the red Mercury, heading west on state Route 59, ran a red light and struck the back of the SUV. The Mercury ricocheted and struck the GMC head-on, Gormsen said. He said the driver of the Mercury was cited for running the light.

Traffic was stopped for about 15 minutes. The Mercury and GMC were towed.
