Suzi Starheim

Two men involved in the death of 23-year-old Kent State student Christopher M. Kernich filed for appeal after being sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for the murder of Kernich.

NEED THE TIME FRAME… THE FACT THAT BARKER FILED A BRIEF ON NOV. 10 – AND YOU SHOULD HAVE READ IT.

AND ALSO THAT THE NEXT DATES ARE AT THE END OF THE MONTH….

NOT THE FACT THAT THEY ARE APPEALING.

CONTINUING IN THE APPEAL….

Kernich died at Akron City Hospital six days after he was beaten on East Main Street in downtown Kent.

Adrian A. Barker filed for appeal on June 18 and Ronald G. Kelly filed on July 13.

Barker filed a brief on Nov. 10, and Kelly has filed for a second extension on his brief. The briefs set forth the errors Barker and Kelly feel were made by the trial court.

The Portage County Court of Common Pleas A COURT CAN’T TALK

YOU HAVE TO ATTRIBUTE IT TO COURT DOCUMENTS…

said the appeal process will begin with oral arguments, and the 11th District Court of Appeals said they IT DOESN’T ANTICIPATE….

don’t anticipate the trial beginning any sooner than March or April because they are already scheduled into those months.
