An agreement on proposed student fees between Kent State and the Ohio Board of Regents has still not been reached, officials said Friday.

Kent State administrators and officials in Columbus have been in verbal negotiations since Wednesday, but it’s still unclear whether $24-per-credit-hour fees that would be in place by 2016 will get the necessary approval from Chancellor Eric Fingerhut.

Fingerhut has told President Lester Lefton the criteria he wants Kent State to meet before stamping his approval, Board of Regents spokesman Rob Evans said. Now Fingerhut is waiting to see a new proposal.
