Prominent Realtor found dead in Twin Lakes

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a prominent Portage County real estate agent, whose body was found in a Twin Lakes home early this morning.

Sheriff David Doak said deputies received a call at approximately 3:43 a.m. regarding Andrew VonStein, 51, who was reported missing by family members.

A family member told authorities VonStein left his Ravenna Township residence Monday and had not yet returned.

Deputies located the vehicle via On Star vehicle tracking approximately 45 minutes later at a vacant house located at 1686 Woodway Drive in the Twin Lakes area of Franklin Township. VonStein’s body was discovered inside the residence.

The death remains under investigation. No other information was immediately available.

VonStein had been a real estate agent in the Ravenna-Kent area since 1985 and formerly owned Broker’s Choice Realty in Ravenna. He sold real estate for Cutler Realty. The home where his body was found was listed by Cutler Realty for $249,000.

VonStein was active in the Ravenna community. He served as president of the Ravenna Area Chamber of Commerce in 2001 and was a member of Ravenna Rotary.
