Bow Wow Beach is a doggone good time

Located in Stow at Silver Springs Park, Bow Wow Beach amasses a 7.5-acre fenced-in dog park and features grassy knolls and a sandy beach surrounding a three-acre lake.

Other useful amenities include a pen entrance and exit to the park, with separate areas for small and large dogs. There are also six strategically placed waste deposits, as well as washing stations and a dock for jumping.

The facility, renowned for its cleanliness and resources, has been ranked in the top 10 dog parks in America two years running by Dog Fancy magazine, said KC Wood, chairperson of the volunteers of Bow Wow Beach.

“We have people that come who can’t get a dog at this particular stage in life … and actually just come and walk around and get their exercise and interact with the dogs. So it’s a win-win,” Wood said.

He also suggests students without dogs visit if they are considering getting a dog to see how breeds interact. Those who are not able to have pets could also benefit from the interaction with the animals, he said.

Bow Wow Beach is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday. For more information visit bowwowbeach.org.
