Contract amendment ads other benefits

If President Lester Lefton’s salary stays the same, his annual bonus could increase by $18,926.25.

That bonus increase is outlined in an amendment to his employment contract that the Board of Trustees approved Tuesday.

Aside from bumping Lefton’s maximum bonus from 20 percent of his base salary to 25 percent, the amendment also adds $15,000 for utilities to the $50,000 housing allowance.

Lefton’s current salary is $378,525.

This article has been changed from the original version to correct an error. If President Lester Lefton’s salary is raised, per the recent amendment, it would only increase at the average rate of university employees.
