Guest pianist to play with faculty quartet

The Miami String Quartet will hold its spring concert with guest pianist André-Michel Schub tomorrow.

The Miami String Quartet members are Kent State faculty in the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music and have been Kent State’s Quartet in Residence since 2004. The quartet has appeared throughout the United States and Europe.

It’s through the partnership with Blossom that the School of Music brought Schub to Kent State.

“We’re working together … (with) Kent/Blossom, bringing in this guest artist working with the Miami Quartet,” said Denise Seachrist, interim director of the School of Music.

The quartet and Schub will perform pieces composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert and Antonin Dvoák.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Ludwig Recital Hall in the Music and Speech Center. The event is free and open to the public.
