No one was injured in a minor accident on West Main Street this afternoon. Around 2 p.m., a red Dodge Dakota Sport truck collided with a grey Pontiac Grand Am in front of Chipolte restaurant.

Patrolman Harris of the Kent Police Department could not give details about the accident but said everything is under investigation.

Kent Roosevelt High School junior, Angela Case, was driving her truck east on Main Street in Kent to meet friends for lunch when a driver going the opposite direction in the middle lane signaled for her to turn. When Case struck a driver in the far lane, the driver who signaled her to turn drove off.

A passerby got the license plate for the driver who left the scene.

“They’re saying it’s my fault,” said Case, who was in tears after the accident. “Failure to yield.”

“The air bags didn’t go off,” she added.

Case said her truck spun 180 degrees to face the other direction after the collision.

Tow truck drivers, firefighters and paramedics arrived about 20 minutes after the crash.

A firefighter and tow truck driver swept debris from the sidewalk before leaving the scene.

“She just got this truck,” Case’s mother, Janice, said.
