Exotic animals come to KSU

Students can go on a safari today at 5 p.m. when exotic animals are escorted through the aisles of the Kiva.

Jack Hanna’s animals will be shown by trainers who will also give information and answer questions. Kevin Pospichel, a member of Kent Student Center Programming, said at the show two years ago, Hanna’s trainers brought leopards, exotic birds, baby alligators, snakes and turtles among others.

Pospichel said while the same animals are not used for each performance, the same rule always applies when they’re brought around: no touching.

Students are not allowed to pet or feed the animals because of insurance reasons.

Pospichel said the show, which is free for students, should last more than an hour, and he recommends early arrival because seating is on a first-come first-served basis.
