Undergraduate Student Senate Allocations Committee provided money to two student organizations Friday.

The American Marketing Association received $1,000 for a national conference, and the International Film Society was given $4,260.

The American Institute of Architecture Students requested approximately $27,000 to fund nine or 10 speakers during the spring semester.

The speakers were to be co-sponsored by the College of Architecture and Environmental Design, but the college would provide no financial help in bringing the speakers.

Having allocated money used by a non-student organization was an issue the committee chose to discuss further, and a decision was tabled until the next meeting.

In addition, Andrew Ljubi, chair of the committee, said the amount requested by the group is a quarter of the remaining budget, so committee members asked if costs could be reduced.

Once cuts are made, the group can present its request again.

Ljubi said PRIDE!Kent was scheduled to present its request but did not show up.
