Student Center hosts Library Careers Night

More than 60 exhibitors will converge in the Student Center tonight for the fourth annual Library Careers Night.

Some of the employers present will be hiring, but “it’s more of a chance to explain to students the different career possibilities in this area,” said Ruth Smith, public relations coordinator for the School of Library and Information Science.

The event will start with a seven-member panel discussion on how to pursue careers in each of the different fields in the library profession – academic, public, school, special and non-library.

After that, exhibitors from various libraries and professional library organizations will be set-up in the Ballroom.

The panel discussion will begin at 5 p.m. in the Governance Chambers, and the Ballroom will open at 6 p.m.
