Student group hopes for civil political dialogue

The new Kent Political Union is “all about expression of different viewpoints,” said interim President Steve Dunwoody.

Dunwoody said the new group is non-partisan and open for students to discuss politics in a “civil manner.”

“(The group) will help motivate the younger crowd,” Dunwoody said. “In four weeks from that time are the elections.”

The group will hold its first meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Student Center Governance Chambers.

Justin Buchler, professor from Case Western Reserve, will speak at the meeting. Dunwoody said Buchler is an expert on elections and Congress.
