The Kent State softball team earned a Mid-American Conference accolade Monday as junior pitcher Brittney Robinson was named MAC East Pitcher of the Week.

Robinson’s play at the Louisville Slugger Tournament at South Florida gave her the title after she pitched two complete games. She had four of her six appearances over the weekend. In her four stints, she pitched two shutouts and posted 22 strikeouts, only allowing four earned runs.

Robinson leads the Flashes in appearances, innings pitched with 32.33, wins with four, complete games with two, strikeouts with 38 and lowest opponents’ batting average with .229.

The Flashes return to Florida to play in the Florida State Tournament beginning March 10 in Tallahassee, Fla.
