Kent State’s softball teams lost both games in a doubleheader at Eastern Michigan yesterday.

Kent State (21-23, 9-9 Mid-American Conference) fell to Eastern Michigan (13-18, 9-8 MAC) 2-1 in the first game and 3-2 in the second.

The Flashes started off the afternoon with a rally. Senior right fielder Abby Molnar was walked and then stole second base. She earned the game’s only run for the Flashes when senior third baseman Jodi Stevens singled to right field.

After that, the Flashes were only able to get six more hits. Eastern Michigan went scoreless until it tied the score in the bottom of the third, then pulled ahead by one in the bottom of the fourth to win the game.

The Flashes were able to take a 2-0 lead in the second game but gave up three runs in the seventh.

Sophomore pitcher Brittney Robinson pitched all six innings of the first game and entered the second game midway through the seventh to finish it. She recorded eight more strikeouts. Her record is 9-11.

The Flashes are off until Tuesday when they are at Pittsburgh for a doubleheader, starting at 3 p.m.
