Kent State hockey club defeats Slippery Rock

Sinking three goals into the net in the waning minutes of the third period, the Kent State hockey club clinched a victory against Slippery Rock University Friday night, winning 6-2.

The two teams were even with each other in the first two periods, leading to the Flashes having a 3-2 lead going into the third period.

Freshman Sean Moore scored his first goal of the night in the third, and was then quickly followed by freshman Rubin Chavarria and junior Jon Buttitta, who each scored their first goals of the night.

Saturday, the Flashes (17-12-1) will face Slippery Rock University (9-18-1) once more, attempting to win their second game of the weekend.
