Hockey team defeats Niagara University in overtime

The Kent State hockey club kept the fans on the edge of their seats during a close shoot-out against Niagara University.

 

Both teams went back and forth during the shoot-out, missing the first two attempts. Sophomore Jake Hainline scored the winning goal on the third shot attempt to win the game 5-4 against the Eagles.

 

Kent State held the lead until the third period, allowing Niagara to tie the game, taking the teams into overtime.

 

Hainline led the Flashes with two goals, assisted by Alex Compean for his first. Senior Miles Radosevic scored in the first period, assisted by Mike Sulivan and Sky Buller. Senior Chad Parise, assisted by Andrew Radosevic and TJ West, scored in the third period, followed by Andrew Radosevic scoring a solo goal.

 

The Flashes’ final game is Saturday against Mercyhurst University at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice Arena.
