Hockey defeats Robert Morris University

The Kent State Hockey Club showed their physical side tonight defeating Robert Morris University 4-2.

“We weren’t ready for them (Robert Morris) to be that physical,”head coach Jim Underwood said. “We allowed them to get into our heads and (we) took a lot of uncharacteristic penalties which put us in a tough situation.”

Junior Casey Barile led the team scoring a point in the first and third periods, assisted by Miles Radosevic and Kasey Calcombe on the first shot and Radosevic again with Jonathan Buttitta for the second. Junior TJ West scored with an assist by Calcombe in the third period, followed by senior Jared Fielden scoring the last point of the game.

Kent State will face Michigan-Dearborn both Friday and Saturday next weekend at the Kent State Ice Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
