With the 2012 Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships approaching this weekend, coach Bill Lawson said he believes both the men’s and women’s teams are ready to finish first.

“We’re doing just enough at practice to stimulate them,” Lawson said. “It’s all mental preparation.”

The momentum gained from the Kent State Tune-Up combined with the light load of practice that the coaches set up to give the practice a relaxed feel to it.

“The momentum carried us through the weekend and carrying us through practice,” Lawson said. “They’re ready to prepare for battle and execute.”

The Kent State track and field team will travel to the University of Akron to take place in the 2012 MAC Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday at the University of Akron’s Stile Athletics Field House.
