Kozar’s four goals not enough to win at St. Bonaventure

The Golden Flashes women’s lacrosse team squared off against St. Bonaventure University and lost 15-7 at Marra Athletics Complex Friday afternoon. The loss comes in spite of sophomore attacker Megan Kozar’s four-goal game; she fired three of them in the second half alone. This was her season high for goals in the 2020 season.

The Flashes cut the deficit down to four goals after their second of the day with 17 minutes left in regulation. From that point on, the Bonnies never looked back, as they scored three straight goals within a span of three minutes to build a seven-goal lead. Freshman goalie Madison Flannigan came in with nearly 15 minutes left in the game and recorded four saves.

The Flashes continued to spread the wealth on offense, with freshmen attackers Morgan Kubicki and Kenzie Sklar scoring one goal each. Midfielder Meghan Cawood chipped in one goal as well, her second of the season.

Coach Brianne Tierney’s squad is surely excited to be returning home in preparation for its first game at Dix Stadium in 2020.

Next Friday, the Flashes will take on Butler University [2-0] and try to pick up their first win. The Bulldogs have scored 41 goals combined over their last two games.
