EuroGyro

A classic bar atmosphere, quick service and greasy food are all the ingredients needed to win in the best drunk food category, and EuroGyro has taken the No. 1 spot once again.

The Downtown Kent staple offers a place to eat when the rest of the bars and restaurants close. EuroGyro doesn’t close its doors until 3 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, 3:30 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Dean Holland, a EuroGyro delivery driver and cook, knows that even though students love EuroGyro, every day is still a challenge to be the best.

“We’re just trying to keep the machine going, to keep putting the oil in the machine, so to speak,” Holland said. EuroGyro’s South Depeyster Street location also delivers until close every day.

Guy’s Pizza

Guy’s Pizza picks up a second place finish in the best drunk food category due to easy, on-the-go munching options.

Joshua Weiss, a Guy’s Pizza inside worker, said that most of the time, the phone is ringing off the hook. “We’re always answering, ‘Guy’s Pizza, please hold!’” Weiss said.

Guy’s South Water Street location caters to the late night bar crowd, looking to fill a pizza craving. Guy’s Pizza is open until midnight Sunday through Wednesday and 1:30 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Mr. Zub’s

Mr. Zub’s has only been in Kent for about a year, but it has quickly gained the approval of Kent State students.

The deli offers a wide variety of grilled and cold sandwiches, each with unique names after a movie character or a quirky fact like “The Rocky Balboa,” “The Uncle Rico” and “The Lisa Simpson.”

Mr. Zub’s is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has an original menu, as well as a seasonal menu, such as their “Lenten menu.”

Mr. Zub’s moved to their South Water Street location in Kent in May 2014. The original deli is located at The Matinee on West Market Street in downtown Akron.
