Softball takes on Bowling Green Saturday and Sunday

After snow caused a double-header with the University of Pittsburgh to be canceled, the Kent State softball team will begin Mid-American Conference play with a double-header Friday at Bowling Green State University.

The Flashes will start their defense of last season’s MAC championship. The Flashes (9-16) are looking to build off a double-header sweep of Bethune-Cookman.

The Falcons (4-13) are struggling at this point in their season. Last season, the Flashes won the season series against the Falcons two games to one.

After Wednesday’s cancellation, the well-rested Flashes have had over a week off from their last game. The game will also be the first non-tournament game of the team’s regular season.

Recently, the Flashes have been struggling with injuries to their pitching staff but are still loaded with bats.

The series of MAC games will lead to a series against Toledo Saturday and Sunday.
